Saturday Service

For our second Saturday service we welcomed Rev. Bruce Bode of our mentoring congregation, Quimper UUF, in Port Townsend.  In his fascinating sermon, "What Child Is This?", he compared the two Christmas images, the Christ-child and Santa Claus.  Both images have to do with the child, both belong to the heart, and both are symbolic images.  The Christ-child is an image primarily for adults, and Santa Claus primarily for children.  Following his Sermon, Rev. Bode lead an active discussion of his topic.
