Nine PUUF members enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Bay Street Bistro in Port Orchard on Wednesday, November 14. The purpose of the dinner was to acknowledge the contribution to the Empty Bowls Project made by owner/chef John Strasinger. He and his staff provided 50 servings of a hearty Amish chicken and corn soup.
When John couldn't attend the original celebration on October 13, the Board decided to chase him down at his own restaurant. Susan Dearth presented him with a turned wooden "empty bowl" as a memento.
Following the presentation, the group enjoyed a relaxed dinner in the upstairs dining room. They proclaimed the Bay Street Bistro to be a fine restaurant, indeed.
Attendees (clockwise) incliuded Ellie Klauminzer, Marilyn Hepner, Judy Arbogast, Anne Hennigan, Gary Culbertson, Shawn Ultican, Share Deweese, Susan Dearth, and Gary Klauminzer (behind the camera).
