On Saturday, September 21, at least six of us attended the Draw a Line Rally in Myrtle Edwards Park on the Seattle waterfront. The focus was on protesting the Keystone XL Pipeline and the export of coal from the west coast. The first two hours were filled with workshops where we learned about these issues from experts, and during the last hour we listened to various speakers, culminating with a motivating talk by Bill McKibben, founder of 350.org and a recognized leader in working to protect our environment. The final event is shown in the first photo below when more than 1000 of us lined up along the shore holding up red banners to "Draw a Line." The line extended four times the length shown in the photo. Fortunately, the weather cooperated wonderfully.
