October 14 - Amanda Aikman will speak on: "The Great Work of Your Life"
The Hindu tradition teaches that every human being has a unique vocation. One of the major challenges of life is to come home to that true self. There are three paths from which we all must choose; pitfalls to avoid; ancient wisdom to guide us.
The Rev. Amanda Aikman lives in Everett. She has served UU churches in the Pacific Northwest since 1994, and though supposedly retired, is now serving as sabbatical minister at Shoreline UU Church. Amanda is a playwright, a spiritual director, and an extremely humble urban sketching enthusiast.
This measure would impose pollution fees on certain large emitters of greenhouse gas pollutants based on rules determining carbon content, starting in 2020. A public board would supervise spending the revenues on reducing pollution, promoting clean energy, and addressing climate impacts to the environment and communities. Utilities could receive credits for approved investments. Indian tribes would consult on projects directly impacting their land. There would be periodic reporting on the measure’s effectiveness. For more information please visit: https://yeson1631

350.org Seattle came up with a great plan to honor the Salish Sea on September 15th with a Salish Sea Day of Action! Communities around the Sea will be putting events together to educate and/or honor the Salish Sea.
We're going to have an event at the Agnus Dei Lutheran Church from 7-9 PM where we'll be screening the documentary, The Rights of Nature: A Global Movement, and we'll have a discussion after the screening about what we're doing to get rights of nature for the Southern Resident Killer Whales.
We are working to establish legal rights for the Southern Resident Killer Whale. Under our current legal system humans and corporations have legal standing but animals and ecosystems don’t. We believe that animals and ecosystems should also have legal rights and be able to defend those rights in court. For more information please contact Kriss A. Kevorkian, PhD, MSW
Our Next PUUF Fellowship meets on Sept. 9 at 4:00 pm at Agnus Dei Lutheran Church. We will have a traditional water service. Anyone is welcome and we invite you to bring a small amount of water from somewhere you traveled this summer or from a source that is meaningful to you. We welcome Bridget Laflin, who will lead our service. She is halfway through her training as a seminary student at Seattle University pursing her Master of Divinity degree. She lives in Shoreline, WA with her husband and two children. She enjoys hanging out with friends, playing board games, and performing with her comedy improv troupe. After she completes her education, she plans to become a Unitarian Universalist minister.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Please refer to www.edwardsmemorial.com for full memorial.
