Announcements, Announcements, Announcements
The 10th annual West Sound UU Men's retreat, hosted by KUUF Men's Book Club, will be held at Ft. Flagler September 25th-27th. All UU men are invited. (A UU man is any male over 21, who gets to read this).
This is an opportunity to relax, have fun, and meet your fellow male UU's.
The cost will be held to $100, which includes all meals from Fridayevening through breakfast on Sunday.
Can't make it all? We can prorate your fees.
All you have to bring, apart from the usual overnight stuff, are a sleeping bag and pillow (the new beds are a major improvement). And this year bring a poem or two. If you wish to bring favorite books, board games, mountain bikes, ping-pong bats, or power tools, you will find the opportunity to use or share them.

We are disappointed to announce that the 10:00 a.m. Sunday Service on July 26 at Scenic Beach Park with the North Kitsap UUs and KUUF has been cancelled.
However, a potluck lunch, organized by KUUF, will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the picnic shelter at Scenic Beach Park. Come for good food, activities and games, and a chance to share time with our UU neighbors in Bremerton and Poulsbo. If you need transportation, contact Judy Arbogast at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Dear Members and Friends;
Last Tuesday your elected board held the first board meeting since the Annual Meeting. Part of the business was to choose officers with these results:
President: Judy Arbogast
Vice-President: Gary Culbertson
Secretary: Beth Allen
Treasurer: Gail Sandlin
Hobie Denny and Ellie Qlauminzer round out the board.
Judy, Ellie, and Hobie will be in contact with the Pacific Northwest Regional UUA to get clarification on our Emerging Congregation status and what it means as we go forward.
Share, Gail, and I are eager to share our impressions and some of our learnings from GA with you in the coming months. In the meantime some of the services and sessions are being posted online at http://www.uua.org/ga. I participated in a session around new ministries along with Rev. Tandi Rogers, Rev. Annie Gonzales Milliken, Rev. Nathan Hollister (Sacred Fire), Rev. John Moorhouse (spiritual communities), and Erin (Chicago Chalice Connections). This presentation will also be on line (perhaps by Sept.)
One of the themes at GA we repeatedly heard mentioned was Beloved Community. I welcome you to share with me your ideas of what we in PUUF can do to enrich and expand our group to become a more beloved community. Contact me at: email@example.com or at 253-225-1977 to share your thoughts, ideas, needs, and visions for the future.
I hope to see many of you at the campout July 25 and/or 26th at Scenic Beach State Park in Seabeck. For those not interested in camping, the Sunday service (in the group day picnic area) will be at 10 am followed by a pot luck lunch. All from PUUF are welcome to join us.
For the month of August the Meditation Group will be meeting at the home of Kathy Knowles, 15190 Peacock Hill Rd. SE. Olalla, WA. Call Share if you need directions 253-858-8414 or cell 360-536-2268. The group is now reading the book, Training in Compassion, Zen Teaching on the Practice of Lojong by Norman Fischer.

Berries are the preferred fruit. SOLLM will provide pie pans, sugar, flour and/or corn starch for thickening, and cinnamon. Up to 4 pies can bake in the double ovens at one time. This is a Kitsap County Health Department certified kitchen. All pies will be donated to the Olalla Bluegrass Festival. Let's make this a fun gathering. KUUF has organized a campout and service at Scenic Beach State Park in Seabeck for the night of July 25th and have invited us and the North Kitsap UU to join them. We do not have a group camp site, so we must make our own reservations.
There will be a simple service including a poetry readying on Sunday, the 26th, at 10:00am. Here is a chance to share your favorite poem(s). Contact Judy if you have poems you would like to share. Don't forget to bring a lawn chair!
Those not camping are welcome to come to the service and a potluck lunch on Sunday. This is a good chance to meet more of the folks at KUUF and NKUU and enjoy the great outdoors on a warm summer weekend! Don't forget to bring a lawn chair with your potluck dish!
Hobie Denny is coordinating a carpool for those that want to sleep in the comfort of their own beds. Please email him for more information.
