Announcements, Announcements, Announcements
The Board of Trustees and the Program Committee are delighted to announce that the Reverend Florence Caplow will return to PUUF as a regular monthly speaker, starting in September. Those who heard Florence during the 2014-2015 year, when she was an intern minister at Quimper UUF, remember her as an eloquent speaker and a gentle and inspiring presence.
Florence is a newly ordained UU Minister, an ordained Soto Zen priest, biologist and environmental nature writer. She has served as Minister at Two Rivers UU in Colorado, and as intern minister at Quimper UU in Port Townsend. She returns to Quimper as an assistant minister, sharing the pulpit with Rev. Bruce Bode.

FLOWER SERVICE SUNDAY
THE THEORY AND PRACTICE OF FLOWER POWER
This Sunday, in honor of the Flower Service, flowers will help us stretch our imaginations; travel the world; float in space; speed up time; transform stone; go to the movies; and get some sound advice on how to live the good life.
Every spring, most of our churches and fellowships devote a Sunday to this festive participatory service which celebrates both the earth's beauty and humanity's oneness.
Please bring a flower from your garden, from the field or roadside. At the end of the service we will take home a different flower. Our common bouquet would not be the same without the unique addition of each individual flower, and thus it is with our church community; it would not be the same without each and every one of us.
Joseph Bednarik serves as the Assistant in the Pulpit at Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Port Townsend.

HANK AND CLAIRE
PETE SEEGER: THE MAN AND THE MUSIC
Pete Seeger (1919-2014), a fellow UU, is an iconic presence in the 20th Century American music landscape, revered by some and reviled by others for his activism on issues of labor, war, civil rights, and the environment. Pacific Northwest musical duo Hank and Claire sketch the line from Pete Seeger’s personal story to the social justice issues that inspired him. In addition to stories about his life, each phase of Seeger’s activism will be illustrated with songs he wrote and/or popularized. You will learn the context for such iconic songs as “Where Have All the Flowers Gone?” and “Turn, Turn, Turn.” Of course you are invited to sing along!
Hank Payne and Claire Favro return to PUUF with their joyous music and storytelling.
